Gennady G. Onishchenko visit was related to the SRC VB VECTOR transforming into the Federal State Institution.
During the visit Gennady Onishchenko met with the Center governance, discussed current situation and prospects of the SRC VB VECTOR. Federal Agency Head also visited research site to meet the R&D Institutes' Directors and the leading laboratories' heads.

Head of the Federal Inspection Agency for Consumer and Human Welfare Protection started business meeting with the VECTOR governance and leading specialists at 7:40. The Center's reorganization issues in context of transforming into Federal State Institution were discussed during the meeting. New tasks were set for the Center staff in combating infectious diseases in Russia; in creating new diagnostic, prophylactic and treatment tools; in scientific personnel training, and in education and science integration (news of May 23, 2005).
Gennady G. Onishchenko visited main Center's scientific units and met the leading scientists of the Molecular Biology Institute, Aerobiology Institute, and "Collection of cultures of microorganisms"; he also looked over the leading research laboratories of the SRC VB VECTOR.
Special priority was given to biosafety issues of conducting researches and necessity of conducting at the modern international level.
Onishchenko discussed the emergency first aid at the infectious hospital of Medical Sanitary Station № 163 placed at the VECTOR research site.
Gennady Onishchenko visited children's department of Regional AIDS Center where he met chief physician Vladimir Orlovsky and personnel. He learned the combating AIDS problems and epidemiological situation features in Novosibirsk region.
Onishchenko discussed integration of the VECTOR research programs and the Koltsovo Science City development programs with Nikolai Krasnikov, Koltsovo mayor.
Gennady Onishchenko also met with Alexey Bespalikov, Novosibirsk region first deputy governor, and Vadim Golovko, Main Federal Inspector, during the visit to Novosibirsk.
Onishchenko met governance and specialists of the Federal Inspection Agency for Consumer and Human Welfare Protection Territorial Administration at the closing visit meeting. Work issues of the Federal Agency territorial divisions in modern conditions were discussed; new tasks and Agency development prospects were set; special attention was drawn to the Federal law project about biological safety that is still debated by Russian Government.
