Activities with the influenza virus have been accomplished at the SRC VB VECTOR for almost 30 years. Monitoring of the influenza virus H5N1 genotype, so-called "avian flu", has been conducted since 2001, and laboratory of the zoonotic infections' research and monitoring was established in 2002. Influenza outbreaks of increased lethality in Hong Kong, Netherlands and the South-Eastern Asian countries led to implementing these measures.

Review "Monitoring of the influenza A viruses' circulation on pandemic period in the territory of Siberia" is presented at the web-site section "Topically".
