According to Gennady Onishchenko, the WHO forecasts during the next years the emerging of new antigenic influenza virus' variant that may lead to the large influenza pandemic of the 5-10-fold lethality growth. In this context Gennady Onishchenko signed the enactment "About preparation to the possible influenza pandemic". Organizing special committees for preparation to influenza pandemic and validating regional plans of preparation to influenza pandemic, covering additional funding for prophylaxis and antiepidemic measures, were recommended to the heads of the regions. Specialists suppose that this new lethal virus will be relative to the H5N1 virus also known as an "avian flu".
